Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews.
  • Deliver a full range of state and local income/franchise tax compliance services for pass-through entities and corporate entities. Sales/use tax experience a plus.
  • Consult, work with, and service clients for SALT compliance and advisory support, outsourcing or co-sourcing including tax processing efficiencies.
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise, comply with continuing education requirements; participate in professional organizations, independent study, etc.
  • Participate in special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Master’s Degree, Juris Doctor or other applicable advanced degree preferred.
  • JD and/or CPA with experience in tax compliance with pass-through entities and corporate entities.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in professional accounting functions including a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory responsibilities required.
  • Broad exposure to State and Local Taxes including knowledge in State Income/Franchise Tax, Credits and Incentives, Sales and Use Taxes; Unclaimed Property and Property Tax knowledge a plus; must be eager to work on a variety of SALT issues and not specialize in one particular area.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of duties.
