My client are currently looking for a Personal Tax Manager to join their Top 50 Accountancy Practice. 

Function: Tax department

Salary:  50k-60k

Reporting to: Tax Partners

The role: 

  • A key role in the firm’s tax department leading a team to deliver high quality compliance and advisory services, and supporting the tax marketing activities of the firm.
  • Exposure to varied and challenging tax issues on clients across a range of private client & OMB issues.
  • The opportunity to develop tax technical skills and to build a role around the individual’s strengths.
  • A leading role in delivering tax advisory projects and supporting the partners in developing tax services.

Individual requirements 

  • Solid academic history
  • CTA qualified
  • A minimum of three years’ post CTA qualification
  • Good working knowledge of taxation for non domiciled individuals
  • Good working knowledge of wider tax issues relevant to OMBs, for example profit extraction issues, corporation tax, loans to participators
  • Ability to deal with conflicting demands
  • Good written and verbal communication and ability to work at all levels
  • Good analytical skills
  • Responsible and flexible attitude to work
  • Self motivated and a good team player
  • Ability to work without supervision

Essential experience/attributes

  • Experience of managing a client portfolio, including all aspects of the service, including managing client relationships, reviewing subordinates’ work and WIP / billing management.
  • Experience of managing a private client tax team including recruitment, appraisals, training and supporting team members’ career development.
  • Ability to identify planning opportunities from existing and potential clients.
  • Excellent IT skills, preferably with a good working knowledge of Digita and the ability to support the development of the personal tax compliance processes.
  • Ability to provide internal tax technical support to partners, tax team members and other personnel.
  • Ability to support marketing initiatives for the firm, for example by identifying marketing opportunities, writing tax articles and internal technical updates.
