This position is based in Brazil and will work closely with numerous business teams within the company to provide tax advice and consultation and will assist with the implementation of business initiatives, including liaising with the various teams and departments based in both Brazil and the U.S. In addition, the position will support the Brazil Tax Leader on both corporate tax and indirect tax planning.
Primary duties include

· Working with taxing authorities and outside advisers as necessary as part of a global tax team; 
· Developing operational implementation work plans supporting tax planning opportunities and for implementation of programs and new projects, including supporting planning for cross-border transactions; and 
· Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future Brazilian corporate tax and indirect tax laws, regulations, rulings, procedures and court decisions that impact Amazon’s business. 
This position interacts with the company’s U.S. and Brazilian business and support units, so any candidate should be able to work well with cross-functional teams. The candidate must be able to communicate complex corporate and indirect tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS · 8+ years of Brazilian corporate and indirect tax experience with a public accounting firm, major law firm, and/or in industry, preferably a multinational corporation. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Previous experience in management of people (Hires great people. Develops great people) 
· Degree in law or accounting chartered/licensed accountant (or equivalent) Master degree or MBA in Tax preferred 
· The job requires excellent written and oral communication skills (English and Portuguese) 
· Understanding Brazilian tax laws, both direct (including TP) and indirect taxes 
· Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment 
· Partner well with people at all levels within an organization 
· Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects, is organized, possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and is able to deliver on tight deadlines 
· Work effectively in a team environment 
· Exhibits excellent judgment and a good sense of humor 
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of management 
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent Excel and general computer skills 
· Ability to understand and work with ERP systems (previous experience with Synchro and Oracle systems) 
· Knowledge of international tax issues and double tax treaties is a plus
