As part of the Corporate Controllership Organization, the Analyst is responsible for the coordination and review of the Company’s consolidated Effective Tax Rate (“ETR”) process. The candidate will work closely with other finance professionals globally to ensure their ETR calculations have been submitted timely, in accordance with applicable US GAAP standards and company policies. This includes review of the quarterly full year global ETR calculations for accuracy and reasonableness, coordination and review of annual global return to provision calculations, administration of the DataFlow and ONESOURCE Tax provision software systems, preparation of quarterly ETR memos & coordination of regional quarterly meetings, preparation and recordation of U.S. tax provision and uncertain tax positions in accordance with ASC 740 and account analysis and reconciliation for all corporate income tax balance sheet accounts.

The Analyst will work as a member of the financial reporting team and will be responsible for the preparation of preparation and footnotes for the Forms 10-Q and 10-K, the department budget and certain other internal reporting responsibilities.

This position is an excellent entrance point into the Company for talented accounting professionals. There is a track record of promotions from this position to other positions within the Corporate Finance group and ultimately to other departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares inputs to the quarterly internal and external financial statements and work closely with Treasury and the businesses to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the statements
  • Administers users, entities, and quarterly close & forecast processes for the DataFlow & ONESOURCE provision systems
  • Performs the detailed reviews of the ETR calculations performed throughout the year
  • Assists in developing and reviewing the documentation for uncertain tax positions; maintain the tabular roll-forward and record the quarterly entry
  • Provides training and assistance to the preparers in understanding accounting and system requirements, particularly when there is a change in responsibilities at the locations
  • Ensures that the finance professionals submitting information report the results accurately and timely and record any adjusting entries in the quarter
  • Prepares cash tax forecast and explain significant deviations from plan
  • Coordinates and reviews results for the annual Plan ETR
  • Prepares external footnote disclosures to be included in SEC Filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K)
  • Coordinates certain year-end data requests for the preparation of annual filings.
  • Ensures data integrity and proper accounting with external auditors during their review and audit of certain SEC filings.
  • Prepares and manages the departmental budget
  • Continually reviews the processes for changes that will improve the efficiency and accuracy in reporting
  • Participates in the adoption of new accounting standards, as warranted.
  • Periodically performs technical accounting research

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Accounting or related field of study
  • 3+ years Big 4 public accounting experience
  • CPA required
  • Previous tax provision experience is preferred
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and accounting requirements relevant to this position
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
