Asset Manager - AVP Tax, Credit - Los Angeles

A large Asset Manager are currently looking to recruit an AVP Tax into their head quarters in LA and join their well respected Tax Team where your primary responsibility will to manage the tax reporting for the company's credit investment funds.


  • Work with our external tax advisors to manage the tax reporting process for federal, state, and international tax
  • Collaborate with other team members to share best practices and ideas to continuously improve the tax reporting process
  • Work closely with our transactional tax team on tax structuring and new transactions
  • Support finance and other business units on tax matters
  • Participate in efforts to test and adopt new technology and tools
  • Research complex domestic and international tax issues
  • Prepare and review quarterly tax estimates for our investors
  • Respond to investor and counterparty’s tax inquires and ad-hoc requests
  • Assist in the new entity formation process by reviewing the relevant tax forms (SS-4, 8832, W-8, W-9, etc.)
  • Assist in the global information reporting process (FATCA and CRS)
  • Prepare ASC 740 (FIN 48) memos for funds that have financial statements prepared in accordance to U.S. GAAP rules
  • Manage tax authority notices and requests

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of Big 4 tax experience in the alternative asset management industry preferred
  • Must have relevant tax experience with a deep knowledge in partnership taxation
  • Ability to think critically and summarize complex information both verbally and written
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate well with members of different groups throughout the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • AVP, Tax (Credit)
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field
  • CPA and/or graduate degree preferred
