Reporting to the State Tax Supervisor, this position acts as the Lead Analyst responsible for State Income Tax, to include provision, compliance, credits and incentives, audit defense, and other special projects.  Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Prepare and review state and local income and franchise tax returns and various other tax related filings as necessary.  Prepare complex schedules for apportionment and adjusting workpapers by analyzing tax law, scrutinizing data received, and streamlining processes. Responsible for the loading of accurate information into the software system used for tax return preparation.
  • Maintain complete, supported, and accurate records and workpapers for all projects completed to support the tax filings and tax positions, as well as support the Tax Department’s database initiative for efficient record retention.
  • Prepare and review workpapers and schedules for quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, account roll forwards, and general tax compliance with changing accounting standards and tax legislation. 
  • Research and prepare memoranda and other documentation regarding tax issues, changing tax regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Prepare responses to Information Document Requests from the various state and local taxing authorities.  Communicate with State and Local tax authorities during routine audits to answer questions and to satisfy inquiries as needed. 
  • Prepare and review applications for state and federal grants and economic incentive programs.  Work with state and local authorities to research incentive programs and assist with other departments on incentive projects for new locations and acquisitions.
  • Support teams outside of the tax area as needed to provide support and tax knowledge.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA and or MST is a plus).
  • 2+ years’ multi-state corporate income tax experience.
  • Microsoft Excel proficient (CorpTax, Oracle, and Hyperion experience preferred).
  • Leadership and team building abilities are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and research skills.
