 Position Summary:

As a Tax Center of Excellence (COE) Manager at Company, you will lead teams to provide expert tax counsel to business units for complex projects and/or initiatives, develop and implement complex tax planning strategies, review compliance activities, and support Global Tax compliance and planning initiatives. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide tax expertise on regulatory compliance and reporting requirements
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies through the tax cycle
  • Perform both detail and quality reviews for tax returns, regulatory reporting and supporting documentation
  • Identify and liaise with technical specialists to ensure appropriate review on technical or higher risk areas
  • Support the tax filings including maintaining proper documentation to sustain tax calculations
  • Set and manage team deadlines and staffing across the tax calendar and life cycle
  • Lead training programs for staff in conjunction with peers
  • Originate and lead process improvement projects and provide data and technology expertise across the COE
  • Conduct and analyze tax research for business unit and global tax planning initiatives including legal entity and supply chain reorganizations and compliance management.
  • Lead, train, mentor and develop staff to include all personnel matters and performance evaluations.
  • Analyze and interpret proposed changes to US and/or non-US tax legislations and regulations, requiring in-depth experience, knowledge and judgement.
  • Provide analysis for US federal and state tax audits, frequently working with examiners and authorities to resolve tax disputes.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (with CPA and/or advanced degree strongly preferred, in process or desire and willingness to achieve)
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible corporate tax experience in Big 4 or large multi-national corporation
  • International tax compliance experience with knowledge of Federal and State income tax compliance preferred
  • ASC740 experience helpful
  • Extensive knowledge of tax law involving a variety of jurisdictions
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skillsets with desire and ability to coach and lead a team as well as collaborate effectively with diverse individuals
  • Microsoft Excel, Corptax, and BNA experience
