Job Description:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum B.Com with post-graduate M.Comm, LLM (Tax Law) or HDip (Tax)
  • SAIT professional designation
  • CA(SA) advantageous
    • Minimum of 5 years’ corporate tax experience in a corporate tax-consulting role.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ managerial experience.
    • Experience working with and interpreting financial accounting records.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting and applying theoretical knowledge to a practical business solution by utilizing a sound knowledge of basic income tax and corporate law.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing income tax and deferred tax computations.
  • Reviewing tax computations for the audit department.
  • Tax technical advisory and drafting technically correct tax opinions and/or reports for review and providing tax opinions and advise to clients and audit department.
  • Gathering information from different sources by using effective research tools.
  • Assisting with the research and preparation of proposals.
  • Identifying problems on client guidance and use various tools and techniques to develop relevant and practical solutions on how to solve them.
  • Liaising with audit partners and audit staff with regards to tax issues.
  • Liaising with SARS.
  • Visiting clients to discuss tax issues and assist clients with SARS audit and queries.
  • Assist with ADR procedures.
  • Performing M&A tax due diligence reviews.
  • Transaction advisory and structuring.
  • Producing accurate work to a high technical standard while coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Preparing monthly invoices and assist with managing long outstanding debtors.
  • Finance and practice management of the team and ensuring assignments are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Planning of staff and managing staff productivity.
  • Managing client relationships.
