Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum B.Com with post-graduate M.Comm, LLM (Tax Law) or HDip (Tax)
SAIT professional designation
Minimum of 5 years’ corporate tax experience in a corporate tax-consulting role.
Minimum of 2 years’ managerial experience.
Experience working with and interpreting financial accounting records.
Interpreting and applying theoretical knowledge to a practical business solution by utilizing a sound knowledge of basic income tax and corporate law.
Preparing and/or reviewing income tax and deferred tax computations.
Reviewing tax computations for the audit department.
Tax technical advisory and drafting technically correct tax opinions and/or reports for review and providing tax opinions and advise to clients and audit department.
Gathering information from different sources by using effective research tools.
Assisting with the research and preparation of proposals.
Identifying problems on client guidance and use various tools and techniques to develop relevant and practical solutions on how to solve them.
Liaising with audit partners and audit staff with regards to tax issues.
Liaising with SARS.
Visiting clients to discuss tax issues and assist clients with SARS audit and queries.
Assist with ADR procedures.
Performing M&A tax due diligence reviews.
Transaction advisory and structuring.
Producing accurate work to a high technical standard while coaching and mentoring junior staff.
Preparing monthly invoices and assist with managing long outstanding debtors.
Finance and practice management of the team and ensuring assignments are delivered on time and within budget.
Planning of staff and managing staff productivity.
Managing client relationships.
