ABB Enterprise Software Inc. (Power Grids Joint Venture with Hitachi) is currently seeking an Income Tax Manager for its Cary, North Carolina location. This role will be partner with other domestic income tax manager(s) to accurately and efficiently manage tax compliance and provision process for ABB. Actively participate in, manage and/or create value-add initiatives which reduce ABB’s U.S. effective tax rate. Support tax accounting, tax audit, M&A, and international tax efforts undertaken by the Americas tax function.

Your responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance and Controversy:-
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of external advisors
  • Develop SOPs and new processes to align with management requirements
  • Coordinate and manage various aspects of federal and state income tax returns and estimates
  • Coordinate and manage federal and state tax examinations
  • Responsible for continuous improvement in the efficiency of gathering and quality of data utilized
  • Tax Accounting:-
  • Prepare federal and state quarterly income tax provision
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with SOX
  • Monitor & forecast ETR
  • Research & Planning:-
  • Identify situations for tax optimization
  • Lead special projects upon request
  • Research and document ad-hoc issues

Your background

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in tax or accounting or finance and minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters in Tax or CPA preferred.
  • Federal and state income tax experience.
  • Tax accounting experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office products skills, with emphasis on Excel.
  • Tax compliance and provision software skills a plus.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all types of people and disciplines, including colleagues internationally.
  • Solid research, writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • SAP knowledge a plus.
