We are a proactive Chartered Accounting and Tax firm servicing the Australian media and entertainment industry with accounting, tax and financing advice.

The Opportunity

Responsibilities:

-Take responsibility for overall client service, ensuring client lodgements are completed on time or earlier
-Liaise with clients to obtain required information for preparation of company accounts, company tax returns, tax computations and BAS returns at required intervals
-Review company accounts and tax returns prepared by staff, by set deadlines
-Be the primary client contact, keeping the Managing Partner informed of important issues
-Manage tax service delivery from initial client meeting through to lodgement
-Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office and other regulatory bodies when required
-Provide clients with tax planning advice specific to the media and entertainment industry
-Support the Managing Partner in growing the practice
-Regularly review systems and make updates and improvements where necessary
-Willingness to support the managing partner in other areas of the practice as required
-Keep up to date with changes to the taxation legislation

Location:

-Some work in ATLA office in Paddington, NSW
-Some work at client's office or other specified location (primarily for meetings)
-Some work from home

Your Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

-Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or Business Administration
-Registered Tax Agent License essential
-Professional Qualification an advantage

Experience:

Minimum 5 years as a Tax Accountant

Skills:

-In depth experience dealing with tax issues relating to media and entertainment industry clients
-Passion for the media and entertainment industry
-Strong knowledge of tax law and statutory regulations
-Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
-Strong professional interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills
-An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
-High level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task
-Highly organised with excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
-Experience with Xero Practice Manager an advantage
