BDO National Tax Services (NTS) provides technical leadership and support to BDO client service professionals and alliance firms throughout the world on matters involving US federal and state taxation. As a member of our NTS team, you will apply your knowledge and experience to assist clients with tax planning and compliance, draft and review technical memoranda, and participate in firm training. You will work directly with clients and with all levels of BDO and alliance firm tax professionals. You will maintain a flexible schedule, and respond to client needs with minimal supervision.


  • BS / BA Degree or equivalent required
  • CPA, JD, MBA or MST preferred

  • Minimum of 20 years experience with an accounting firm focused on ASC 740 and related issues including previous leadership roles with regards to ASC 740

  • CPA License and/or J.D. preferred

  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements an client service teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to articulate complex information when providing crucial negotiation insights, etc.
  • Must be technically competent across multiple US federal, international and state income tax disciplines
  • Fundamental working knowledge of all or essentially all non-income based federal, state and foreign tax regimes, including but not limited to indirect, payroll, property and ad valorem taxes
  • Understanding of US GAAP, including the accounting for income tax principles
  • Experience with tax controversy and procedure
  • Ability and willingness to travel, when necessary
