The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for certain tax accounting functions for Dole Food Company, Inc. and subsidiaries in accordance with accounting principles and SEC directives. This position is also responsible for assisting with certain aspects of tax compliance, IRS audits and preparing responses to IRS information document requests. Also assists the International Tax Manager with Dole's foreign tax operations throughout the company to help insure compliance with U.S. reporting responsibilities for foreign affiliates. Maintains all departmental tax accounting computer applications. Supplemental role in domestic compliance and planning. This role will also assist the Tax leaders with research on various projects. As a Senior Tax Analyst, this position will generally work across the tax functions, but will have the Director, Tax Accounting as their performance manager.



    • Primarily compiling (domestic) and reviewing (foreign) quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations and related footnote disclosures for both continuing and discontinued operations, as applicable. Computes the current/deferred split of the tax provision, quarterly projections of balance sheet tax accounts.
    • Share in administering and maintaining all Departmental tax provision software computer applications including identification of tax accounting process improvement opportunities.
    • Keeps abreast of current tax developments through various tax services, attendance at seminars, etc.
    • Maintaining requisite knowledge of Dole’s foreign operations and performing as a liaison with finance personnel through the company to insure compliance with U.S. GAAP reporting requirements for foreign affiliates.
    • Assisting in evaluating non-U.S. uncertain tax reporting positions and maintaining a list of those positions.
    • Participating in IRS audit weekly meetings including preparation of responses to IRS information documents requests. Assist on foreign audits as requested by International Tax Manager.
    • Prepare federal and state tax returns, and assist with tax planning opportunities, and compute estimated tax payments for US.
    • Performs special tax projects and/or other responsibilities as assigned.


Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill And Experience Requirements)

    • 7 years’ experience in the income tax compliance/accounting
    • Good understanding of GAAP financial accounting
    • Knowledge of ASC 740/FIN 48 Accounting for Income Taxes
    • Ability to work both independently and as a strong team player
    • Ability to interface with certain levels of management
    • Ability to develop processes and work with highly-detailed information while maintaining a clear perspective of the overall issues to be managed

This role will primarily be interacting with members of the tax lead team but will also be interacting with members of finance and IT to get the necessary data to perform the tasks assigned, as well as process/system solutions to gain efficiencies. There will be communication with foreign regions as well, but on a more limited basis.




    • Education: BS degree and 3-5 years of relevant accounting and tax experience.
    • Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting and/or CPA license a plus.
    • Public accounting experience desired.
