The Tax Director has responsibility for all global tax related functions within the company, coordination and implementation of the overall tax planning strategy and ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements are met including management of global tax provision and related financial statement disclosures.


Essential Job Functions:
Tasks including, but not limited to:
Ensure that the Company complies with all applicable state and federal tax laws and regulations;
Prepares quarterly and annual tax provision entries and related tax footnotes as required for Company 10-Q and 10-K SEC report filing;
Works with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to develop the company’s forecasted tax rate for planning purposes;
Ensure Company is appropriately positioned with respect to global Transfer Pricing positions;
Direct and coordinate the activities of tax managers to ensure global tax compliance and provision work is completed accurately and timely;
Responsible for management of external and internal tax audits including response to inquiries, correspondence, and maintenance of required company records and reconciliation of all tax discrepancies;
Recommend strategies to minimize tax liability by studying tax regulations; searching out and evaluating tax options;
Liaise with legal, business and finance functions to identify tax planning opportunities, risks, and other tax related support during corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions activities;
Advises management on all company tax-related matters;
Manage and develop tax department staff;
Maintains knowledge of tax requirements by studying new tax regulations and directives; obtaining tax opinions and interpretations; attending tax seminars; studying proposed tax legislation; and
Other special projects, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Job Requirements:
BS or Masters in Tax or Accounting required
CPA Certification required
A minimum of 15 years of professional tax experience is required, with 10 or more in a significant management capacity;
Big 4 or other Public Accounting experience preferred;
Must possess a strong ability to concisely present complex tax models, strategies and results to executive management and audit committee as required;
Strong Interpersonal skills – must have proven ability to attract and retain talent and strong history in leading and developing a successful tax organization;
Strong desire to learn and grow within the organization;
Demonstrated experience in successful and professional negotiations with taxing authorities;
Must be a self-starter, knowledgeable in both federal and state tax compliance, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and possess good communication skills (both verbal and written); and
Candidate must be a team player and a willing mentor.
