The Tax Director reports to the Vice President Finance and will lead our tax team as we experience continuous growth in the U.S. This role is responsible for North America tax compliance and tax planning for income and indirect taxes and accounting for income taxes for an inbound company owned by a foreign entity. The successful candidate will work with various internal and external stakeholders and professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities.


What you’ll do to be Sixt-cessful:

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of tax professionals
  • Drive strategic tax projects
  • Perform short- and medium-term tax planning
  • Determine tax implications to the company of new products and new locations
  • Responsible for Federal and State Income Tax compliance including preparation of returns, all related analysis and support, and managing audits of these returns by government authorities.
  • Responsible for US Income Tax Provision including supporting disclosures needed for worldwide consolidated financial statements
  • Responsible for preparation and any related audits of Sales and Use returns, Property Tax returns and Business Licenses. Assist with audits by airport authorities.
  • Responsible for coordinating transfer pricing and management fee arrangements with Tax Department of foreign parent
  • Manage implementation and usage of tax software applications in conjunction with IT staff
  • Monitor, provide analysis of, and recommend the proper course of action on legislative and regulatory developments
  • Provide tax support and ensure tax compliance for corporate initiatives such as, inter-company capital structuring, tax-related debt covenant provisions, insurance captives, legal entity structure, new lines of business, etc.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Master’s Degree in Taxation, JD and/or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years related experience with at least 3 years in a public accounting firm or large multi-national company
  • Strong applied knowledge base of accounting, income tax, and GAAP rules. Exposure to IFRS is beneficial
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to work hands-on in a team environment including working at a detailed level as needed
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • Able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
