Key Objective 

To support VP of Tax Strategy in developing and managing Pearson’s global tax strategy 

Key responsibilities 

Provide day to day support in developing and implementing Pearson’s overall strategic tax goals. 

Build relationships across the organisation to become a trusted business partner. 

Responsible for maintaining Group ETR model and related forecasting. 

Provide tax support to UK operating business and enabling functions. 

Support the year-end tax reporting process working with local finance teams as required. 

Working effectively with other sub-teams in the tax function as required to implement global tax initiatives. 

Evaluate the implications of legislative changes, in particular monitoring tax authorities’ attitudes to taxation of the digital economy. 

Proactively identify, manage and mitigate group tax risks.

University degree and relevant professional qualification (accounting, tax or legal). 

UK and international tax experience gained in a multinational organisation or a large accounting firm. 

Strong Microsoft Excel skills. 

Strong interpersonal, project management and communication skills. 

Ability to build strong relationships with management and the wider business.
