This position will provide hands-on support for US and international income tax based compliance, audits and financial reporting as well as oversight of Sales and Use tax. This position will be highly visible within the firm working with the accounting team and interacting with outside CPA firm and partner tax preparers. Additionally, this position will be responsible for evaluating tax laws and recommending acceptable practices to minimize taxes for our partners & the firm. This position reports to the Tax Director.






    • Responsible for the compiling, analyzing and organizing financial data for the preparation of the Firm’s US tax filings including, but not limited to:
      • Firm’s Federal and State partnership tax returns and related composite filings and estimated tax payments;
      • Firm’s investment partnership tax returns;
      • Other US tax related filings such as UBT, gross receipts, sales and use, commercial rent, Form 1099-MISC.
    • Partnering with the Accounting Department and to analyze book income for tax purposes and adjustments.
    • Research and analyze all partnership tax issues. Monitor global tax developments, changes to state taxes, new jurisdiction research, etc.
    • Respond to IRS/State notices and information requests for the firm. Manage all tax audits.
    • Plan, develop, and institute procedures and process to comply with various tax laws.
    • Communicate with Partners and their preparers and address all concerns.
    • Work with Senior Management to evaluate and implement appropriate tax strategies.
    • Be involved with issues related to expatriates.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA and/or Masters in Taxation degree preferred.
  • Experience from a Large CPA firm or other Professional Services environment.
  • 7+ years of relevant tax experience required. Partnership tax experience for service industries a plus.
  • Ability to anticipate firm/partner needs and initiate/execute tasks to meet those needs.
  • Must be professional, mature, dependable, trustworthy & committed to adding value to the firm.
  • Strong tax technical background.
  • Experience with dealing with tax authorities.
  • Excellent PC skills (Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and build partnerships with different departments, business partners and management.
  • Demonstrated project management, project leadership and resource management.
  • Must be detail oriented with ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Self-motivated, problem solving and solutions development skills including the ability to proactively avoid problems.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
