The Vice President Tax is primarily responsible for managing the liabilities and risks associated with the taxation of INAP excluding payroll taxes. Administration of tax functions includes management of tax staff to correctly assess taxability of transactions for financial and governmental reporting and to meet numerous due dates associated with such reporting. The Sr. Director of Taxation is also expected to participate in planning for future business transactions by providing insight into risks and opportunities applicable to plans provided from the business units and the Executive Team.

Responsibilities:
Manage Tax Department staff.

Communicate tax risks and opportunities regarding current and future tax law changes, business transactions or opportunities based operational changes.

Correctly classify transactions based on Federal, state and international tax law.

Compliance with due dates for all tax reporting.

Connect with Finance Department personnel in order to accurately and efficiently report book financial impact of taxes pursuant to GAAP guidance.

Recognize and act upon tax law changes which require changes in processes or reporting of Internap’s business.

Discover and implement measures or elections to maximize tax attributes for Internap’s future utilization.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters in Tax or Accounting desired CPA certificate; preferred, but not required.

At least 15+ years experience; public accounting experience is a plus

Previous domestic and international tax provision and tax compliance experience.

Experience in taxation of Telecommunications or a related field is a plus.

Extensive experience and knowledge of ASC 740, financial reporting of income taxes.

Previous tax compliance experience is a plus.

Working knowledge of international tax and intercompany transactions.

Experience with managing staff to successfully complete comprehensive reporting requirements.

Communication of tax positions and risks thoroughly yet concise.

Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Windows based environment.

Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.

Flexibility with work schedule and the ability to work overtime if necessary in order to meet filing deadlines
